Welcome to the Middle East Center database on the CISG, Arbitration, and other International Commercial Law materials. The CISG is the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, the law of countries that account for two-thirds of all world trade.
|
This database is produced by the
Middle East Center for International Commercial Law, an independent non-profit organization established in 1998 in the U.S., oriented toward public service studies. Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghany El Saghir, the Associate Dean of Menoufia
University Faculty of Law for Higher Studies [Egypt], Associate Professor of Law, and visiting Professor at
Pace University School of Law during the academic year 1996 - 1997 and the fall semester 1999-2000, is
the founder of the Center.
The purposes of the Center are to promote public understanding of International Commercial Law in Arab States; support and encourage scholars of Arab States to have a more effective and significant role formulating and developing rules governing international business transactions; and to share knowledge of International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution Procedures with Universities, Institutions, scholars, jurists, counsel and practitioners.
The Center provides a database on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (Vienna Convention 1980) (CISG), on Arbitration as a method of dispute resolution, and on other International Commercial Law materials in the Arabic language, in addition to materials on issues of importance to Arab States in languages other than Arabic.
This database is compiled from submissions by many contributors and correspondents from the Arab States
under the general editorship of Professor Hossam El Saghir with the cooperation
of the Institute of International Commercial Law, Pace University School of Law.
