Views on citing ULIS or ULF cases in CISG proceedings

We cite ULIS or ULF case law recognizing that there can be different schools of thought on the citation of ANY case law other than CISG case law as an aid to interpreting this Convention. The CISG is autonomous, therefore, no other case law ought to be relevant. On the other hand, "[i]t is simply common sense that if the Convention adopts a phrase which appears to have been taken from one [uniform law] where it is used in a specific sense, the international legislators are likely to have that sense in mind and to intend its introduction into the Convention."
